I like getting mail. One of my joys is checking the mailbox when I arrive home to see what we received. Mostly it’s junk mail, but occassionally something good comes, and then my heart leaps.
I also like to promote environmental causes, and look for ways to save the environment.
I recently found Zumbox.com, which boasts to be the environmental alternative to regular mail. I’m not exactly sure how it works, since I don’t have their PIN and I don’t have any mail to send. However, if this works like I think it does, this could be a revolution to traditional mail methods.
Something that’s bugging me lately is all the talk by the Postmaster General about how much money the USPS loses. I like the Post Office, but I’m convinced that the private sector could do it cheaper, better, and more efficiently, and still provide the quality service we depend on (i.e.: FedEx and UPS). I’m not about to advocate that we let the USPS fail, but there have to be more efficient alternatives to standard mail delivery and billion-dollar losses.
