You’re having a rough day?

I don’t think anyone is having as bad of a day as this young bride.

Some James Bond Sophistication

I like to read the Dumb Little Man blog. Usually, the writer keys their post aroung a "top-10" type theme of making your life easierand slightly less complicated.
This post is about some "do’s" and "don’ts" surrounding James Bond.
One of the "do’s" I like is "Do: Be calm under pressure. In “Casino Royale”, Daniel Craig’s Bond [...]

Proposition 8 Fury

My parents live in California, and they voted yes on Proposition 8. In case you’ve been hiding under a log or stuck on Mt. Scott without television or radio reception, Proposition 8 is the California ballot measure amending the Constitution to include the provision that the only recognized form of marriage is between a man [...]

Round 2

Hey, congratulations! It looks like you’ve hit the "taxpayer lottery," and you’re going to get another couple thousand dollars in your pocket. Even better, the first $750 Billion is already spent, (only $60 billion is left) so we’re looking at another bailout package, but don’t worry, you won’t have to pay for it, your kids’ [...]

Irked off

I hope you’re as frustrated by this "credit crunch" as I am. There seems to be no end to the number of folks seeking financial assistance because of their poor choices. Don’t get me wrong though, I favor providing some assistance to folks who need help, but I certainly discourage all-out freebies that reward poor [...]

Spicy

Are you in a relationship slump? If you’re like me, you’re just having a hard time competing with your work, religious, and family commitments, and trying to keep them afloat, and you sometimes neglect that relationship between you and your spouse.
I believe that having a family is a fundamental element to our personal happiness. More [...]

Disgustingly stupid laws

The Nebraska legislature enacted a new law that just disgusts me. Perhaps you’ve heard about Nebraska’s Safe Haven Act that allows parents to abandon their children, of any age, without reprecussions or consequences.
Most states have similar laws that allow parents to abandon newborns, which I believe is permissible and will provide opportunities for these children [...]

E-lect-shun Day!

It’s your duty as a pure-blooded, half-bred, immigrant, American to vote. We’ve heard the mantra time and time again. We recognize the importance, and yet, some of us choose not to.
It’s certainly important for you to discover what the issues are, and where you stand on them. There’s a big battle in California over Prop [...]

With Elections on Tuesday, Who Knows Where We’ll Be

I had a conversation with my brother who lives in California. He’s looking to sell his home, but is concerned about the huge loss he’ll take when he sells it. He’s discouraged because he paid a fairly high amount, but because of the recent slump, he’s also scheduled to lose nearly $80,000, if he sells [...]
