Keep your checkbooks close

I‘ve warned you about these auto bailouts and business bailouts. Now this story appears at abcnews.com. The money quote:

[O]ver the next few years taxpayers will pay a total of $75-$125 billion to keep the Big Three out of bankruptcy.

Talk about fleecing the middle class.

The Automaker Bailout

I saw this on Robert Kraft’s Facebook. While I think it’s a bit harsh language-wise, it sums things up pretty well.

Driving Less = Less Stress?

The U.S. Census Bureau conducts regular evaluations of a variety of information. The Bureau is a treasure-trove of data. I’m sure whatever data you need, you’ll find on their site or in their archives.

Well, I was browsing and I found this list of the states with the lowest drive times, and a companion table listing [...]

“Victimless” Foreclosures

Professor Mark Edwards from Concurring Opinions, a law-related blog, posted this article titled Evicting the Blameless Tenant. His article describes the unfortunate practice of evicting renters and other tenants.
My brother recently had this experience. He works as an engineer in the mining industry, and moved from one location in southern California, to another plant in [...]

Alexis Martin-Neely posted a radical article about debt management, and some drastic shifts in financial planning (see my post here).

Recently, she’s getting attacked because of this risky move. By her own admission, it’s risky and not for everyone. The reason why it’s such a bold concept is that you’re getting access to some cash, which, [...]

I subscribe to an email newsletter published by Alexis Martin-Neely, CEO of  Family Wealth Planning Institute, an online/offline firm dedicated to providing sound legal, investment, and personal advice to a variety of individuals.
